I went out trying to cut some small sweetgums and the thing wouldn't really make any kind of horiz. cut. the chain moved fine but not cutting. i had to really force it through the wood; normally it pulls itself through. when the bar was in vert. position, it cut like a champ.Feb 22, 2020. #9. I have a ms441 and a 066 and the 441 is quicker on the throddle and is as fast as the 066 through wood 20" and smaller as i can tell.Use the Mfg. 2 stroke mix recommendations (use mfg or other top qual. 2 cycle oil) and run the saw like you normally would, avoiding hi revs for several tanks of fuel. And in a couple days it is going to be a modded huge belly bar 7900. I have 1 guy running a 42 inch bar with skip tooth chain on a modded 7900 with no problems. Most of the time he runs a 24 inch but when the tree gets that big he uses the 42 inch bar instead of buying a bigger saw.ArboristSite Operative. Fuel used was Husqvarna ethanol free XP+ 50:1 mix. The Stihl had about 7 tanks of fuel through it. 18" factory bar with new Stihl .325/.063 standard chain. Fuel used was Stihl ethanol free 50:1 mix.Do that a few times and yes, you'll have to lean hard on the saw to get it to cut, and your chain will be smoking. My STIHL MS290 was down, so in a bind, I purchased at LOWES, a Craftsman 42cc, 18 inch chainsaw. It has the Model number CMXGSAMY421S on it followed by (41AY421S793) in a few places. It was a complete Bxxxh to get it started, but I finally got it going & I was doing the work with it, but found the bar very wimpy & too ...The design of the File-O-Plate is such that it will cause the chain to maintain original cutting efficiency throughout its entire life. A 3/8" pitch chain that is filed back to over the rear rivet, the depth of the depth gauge should be .038" to be equivalent to the .025" that it was when it left the factory.

A while back I succumbed to the siren call of a cheap Chinese saw and Amazon and bought a Neo-Tech top handle which I gave away after using it a couple times. I was not impressed with the build quality or the ergonomics. Cheap is cheap and you get what you pay for just like everything in life.The nearly identical 62 came out in 1968 and the slightly refined 621 in 1970. The design was well ahead of its time, and production lasted until at least 1982, when it was replaced by the 630, I think.
